ideas for cheap stuff

Well tis a week since we last posted. The 2 reasons for this are we’ve been having a lot of fun on the island and the internet was bloody expensive. Not that we didn’t spend our money. Boy did we spend it! Tis my birthday today and I’m a quarter of century old. We had planned to go on a boat trip and then head ot the Golden Mountain for the sunset but its pissing raining and the roads are flooded so plan b of going to a pub and enjoying some movies is sounding more likely. The girleens got me a lovely necklace which is my new pride possession. Glad to hear the wedding party went well and that you like the vids. Not that ye could hear them very well but its the thought that counts. Thanks to Laura for helping on the day and Kev for organising the videos, I’ll get around later to checking out the photos. Hope my cousin coming on to you wasn’t all bad. What can I say. The O Reillys’ just can’t get enough of ya! Thanks to all for the birthday emails and sms so far. Much appreciated after last night, cos I caught a robber on the bus and it kinda freaked us out. Now don’t worry we all kept our stuff but he’s just lucky I didn’t gouge out his eyes. I woke up at one stage and saw this Thai guy flitting around the back and next thing he was in the seat next to Lids and reaching up for this plastic bag. Well I lost it and then he went back down the back. Everyone checked their stuff. We’d already locked our haversacks after a guy we met on the way down’s travellers card was stolenf from his so nothing could be taken from them. Then Lids opened her eyes later and the little shit was scaling over the seats like a monkey and went up to the driver who let him out at a random petrol station. Its all a bloody scam and it always happens so ya just gotta keep your stuff close! Anyway that’s not to say it was ally bad. We met 2 really kool individuals Gary from Manchester, who we adopted for the duration of our stay, and Lorna from north of Inverness, who was staying on a remote part of the island but came and hung with us every day. At first we went to a remote beach and it was raining. Tried out the water though, which was lovely and warm though there were these jelly things in the water that were clear worm shaped and had black dots in em. Gary took one out and ya could see it breathing. It was weird. Gary introduced us to whiskey buckets, which are whiskey, red bull and coke, and then Lids and Dee got involved in a spot of Thai boxing and we all got cuts and bruises. First of many. The best of the week was definately Dee and I jumping through a hoop of fire, which no one else witnessed cos they were off galavanting or sleeping but which was definately a high, sliding through this cave at a waterfall and snorkelling. Lids didn’t manage the whole snorkelling cos it was in deep water but we were very proud of her cos she got in with 2 life-jackets and she paddled around like a good thing. Then we went to the Half Moon Party on Wednesday night in the jungle, Lorna had to leave that morning but Gary, Lids, Dee and I had a wild time. Thought I’d see 2 people I used to work with, Sue and Coffey there but didn’t catch up with them. We got home at 06:30 to the most beautiful sunrise but had to go straight to bed cos at 12:00 we left for Bangkok and that freaky journey. So we basically did a lot of partying, relaxed, soaked up some sun, enjoyed the surf and generally had a bit of a holiday before we get back to the real hardcore travel. We were thinking of leaving on Sunday for Cambodia but we’re so tired we may leave it till Monday. I’m planning to try uploading all the photos again tomorrow so fingers crossed I manage it.
