These are photos from my last day in Bangkok and then some of Cambodia. Dee has lots of photos from Thailand that she’ll put up in the future so don’t get confused if we’re back-tracking!
Buddhists just love their water features. This one is on the way up to the Golden Mount in Bangkok.
Buddhists ring bells to announce themselves to him.
When praying Buddhists bow before the shrine 3 times and then circle the shrine 3 times before finally bowing again at end. The ritual is different in temples though.
Couldn’t figure out what this was about but the monk was tying this string in an elaborate pattern around the shrine as you can see. If we ever find out we’ll let you know. The shrine isn’t always covered in red like this, they were preparing for some festival.
This food vendor used her hands on this red hot pan to cook our food. Hands of steel I tell ya!
Lids and Dee, windswept on our way to the Thai - Cambodian border.
Me at Bayon temple in Angkor. One of my personal favourites.
All these enigmatic faces everywhere at Bayon. No real explanation as to who they are supposed to be but they look kool and da gang.
One of the carvings at Bayon. They were really amazing. Whole stories from Indian mythology and religion surrounded the whole temple of Bayon.
Dee at the lake near Angkor Wat.
This is at Ta Prohm, one of my other favourites in Angkor. Really there were tonnes but the memory cards from my camera had been destroyed so I could only take a few. Dee has millions more interesting ones of us at these temples though.
Isn’t this just the koolest picture? This is also at Ta Prohm. Its like the jungle is swallowing the whole temple up.
