a weblog about girleens that travel. read of their adventures!

Me with all my Laos Kip. Yes I know I look flush with cash but the grand total of this amount was about 100 USD. Still looks good though.

Our eyes were bigger than our bellies when we went to an Indian restaurant in Vientienne so we decided to do something artistic with our leftovers. Aren’t we clever!

As Dee was sick Lids and I did what all concerned friends do. Leave her in the room in Vang Vien while we went out for some bevies.

We sat in our little hut having some wine and watching some Laos kids play around on the ropey bridges that span the river there. I ask ya is this the life of Reilly or what? Pity then that I’m an O’Reilly or I’d be living like this all the time.

River and mountain view in Vang Vien. Pity that the weather wasn’t like this the next day for our daytrip.

Dee with Buddha footprint on our daytrip in Vang Vien.

View from the road between caves.

Lids and Dee sounding a tune on the limestone creations with one of the caves, which had housed hundreds of Laos people during the war.

Laos guy stripping bamboo for weaving.

Dee and Lids tubing through a cave. Twas bloody cold in there.

Easy-going trekking. I love it!

Our guide pouring us our first Lao Lao whiskey. Paint stripper probably tastes better.
