a weblog about girleens that travel. read of their adventures!

Well this site isn’t being utilised much lately, and I must say, I miss ranting and raving here, just don’t seem to have the time! The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is screaming for blood this week. They want to meet a target of 466 donations, and you should go to try help out. If you’re not eligible, then at least you tried! Convince your friends and workmates to go along, particularly if they’ve never donated before. I’m hoping to fit it in this evening before I go the “Red Carpet” table quiz, Break for the Boarder, 19:00 that my friend Austin is running in aid of Headway. Seems he hasn’t got too much interest, what with Christmas coming up everyone’s so busy, so I’ll have to try rope some heads from the street into coming in and forming a team. It’s pretty cheap at 30 EURO for a team of 4, so I’m sure to get some interest.
In other news, I’d like to congratulate my good friend Maria and Mika on the birth of their baby boy, Jonas, this past Saturday morning. He was born at 02:00 in the morning after only 3 and a half hour, other first time mothers probably want to kick Maria for being so lucky right now! Can’t wait to see the little Sprog!
In house update news, the heating is in, the alarm is armed, there’s a bed and table, but unfortunately, no sitting room floor. Have to get that sorted this week, as my couch is due for delivery next week, and you all know how important a couch is to a Couch Surfer! It’s all looking fantastic. I’m so excited. Was going to suggest Christmas dinner in my house, but since my sister-in-law’s family is over this year, they probably want to have it in their house, with their bar. Hmm, will have to see how it pans out, though I’d love to have friends from Couch Surfing over, who aren’t able to go home for Christmas. That’d be great too. I won’t be renting rooms till the New Year at this stage, what with the Christmas rush, and things not being finished.
I’m going to Hogmannay in Edinburgh this year with my best bud Laura, Jonathan and some other mates Lucia, Dan, Sinead, Hightower and Alana. We’re going to stay with my mate Kim, the babe and it will be awesome! Sad not to have the better thirds of LTD there, but they’ll be enjoying the sumptuous surroundings of a Kilkenny hotel for a lavish dinner dance, and I’m entirely too cheap for that!
Right, got loads of photos from the “best birthday party ever!” to upload, but I’d like to write a blurb on the wonderful performance of Silken, and Dan, Naz and Jonathan that night, and gush about what wonderful friends I have, but I really don’t have the time now to do it justice, so I’ll save this for another post.
Later lads and lassies! Hope you’re all keeping well. Mwah!
