a weblog about girleens that travel. read of their adventures!

We´re in Vinales since Monday staying with Millo y Dahlia in a casa particulares. Food and hospitality unsurpassed. Its in the state of Pinar del Rio, west of La Habana, and its absolutely beautiful. We went horse riding for 4 hours yesterday, and since our asses are still sore we got a bus around the valley today and took in two caves. La Habana was absolutely brilliant, mostly because we met some awesome local Cubans. A Couch Surfer, David, made us dinner in his house on Saturday night and then we hung out at the Malecon drinking rum, and chatting with his friends. Brilliant night. Sunday was fantastic as well. We visited Callejon de Hamel, where Afro-Cuban Rhumba celebrations take place for hours. We met a local who was showing me how to salsa and rhumba, but the heat near killed us. Ended up sleeping for 12 hours! Know the way I was moaning about the bad connection in La Habana to the internet? Well its been surpassed here as it took about 10 minutes to log on and I´ve only 3 minutes left! Thanks to all for the comments, keep them coming and I´ll update properly about our last few days and the time in Vinales, as soon as possible, maybe when we reach Trinidad on Saturday.
