Right, I’ve finally managed to log onto e-mail after 20 minutes. Bloody hell! Having a frigging amazing time. It’s ridiculously hot every day, but we’re getting used to it…I think. We were staying with a brilliant couple, Dalia y Millo, in Vinales for the last week. We had so much fun and it was so relaxed that we stayed 5 days altogether. Our Spanish, though still woeful, is much improved in understanding at least with the patience of everyone we met here. They’re so good to give us the time to practice. I’ve never discussed sex so much in my life than with the Cuban people we’ve met over the last week! We’re forever being told how “sexual” people are here and how boring we are to only have one boyfriend each at our age (we should apparently have 3, but who has time for that!), getting questions about homosexuals (apparently if you’ve short hair as a girl, or if you wear tight bright tops you’re gay), if Irish people use “sombrerros” by which they mean condoms…the list is endless and hilarious.
Anyway, to what we’ve been up to, as everything is taking so long this will be more of a list till Costa Rica, where things will be quicker and cheaper and I’ll be able to explain more. Habana last weekend was brilliant, especially when we met David, and saw some Cuban culture. Dancing at the Afro-Cuban rumba celebration at the Callejon de Hamel was definitely a highlight, also hanging out at the Malecon with our new Cuban friends, and seeing people praying at a certain grave in the Necropolis de Colon for special intentions or blessings. When we got to Vinales we were met at the bus by Millo, who David had recommended to us. He turned out to be probably the best thing about Vinales. He brought us hiking (though the hike was cut short by Tongie being sickly, though it probably wasn’t too bad an idea to leave early due to the fact that we’d been free climbing something like sheer cliff faces with footholds!), drinking & dancing one night and on Friday we went to the river in a pimp mobile like car listening to power ballads and drinking rum in the river while making tonnes of new Cuban friends. Uncanny that when ya got a bottle of rum you can make friends so easily!
Damn it, no time left. Trinidad is awesome, we’ve a new best friend of an emaciated dog who keeps following us and we were dancing in a cave last night till 04:30. Here for a few days and then off to Santiago de Cuba. Hopefully meet up with our friend Ailish there.
Hugs!

do they play marvin gaye - sexual healing all night long???
Think they might be right about the 3 boyfriends! Sounds like you’re taking things too seriously.
They don’t sing anything. They simply purse their lips and call us over like dogs. One guy nearly missed me in Santiago as I was hidden behind a car so he did a quick step back, made that Cubano male sound and said “beautiful lady”, all while falling into a little pothole that was strategically placed in the ground where he’d jumped back to. Babs, you try having 3 boyfriends and see if you can handle it!
Teehee
Hi Tee!
Well you seem to be well at it. We have been on the roads quite a bit. Croatia was great fun. The diving season was opened early just for us - well why not??!!
Dads little c case was interesting but that is something for the old voice wire some time. Keep your fingers crossed though - the decision will be made within the next week or two.
Hello from everyone over here - Spanish, German and Irish. Don’t mind Babs, beds get very crowded with more bed partners.
Anyways, have fun and would ye go to bed early at least once a week!!
Love, hugs and cuddles
Big sis.
Hiya from soggy Ireland. Sounds like you’re having an adventurous time - which is no surprise. All those conversations sound a bit like Friday bun run here! Glad to see that you made it over safely - looking forward to reading more of your adventures
